How to Write a CV for HR and Recruitment Roles

Make it a model CV
An HR CV is a credibility test. It should be impeccably formatted, perfectly proofread, and logically structured — because you, of all people, are expected to know what good looks like. A sloppy HR CV undermines you before a word is read.
Show the breadth of your HR expertise
HR is wide, so signal your areas clearly: recruitment and talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, L&D, or HR operations. Tailor which areas you lead with to match the specific role.
List systems and knowledge
Name the HRIS and ATS platforms you use (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, BamboHR, Oracle HCM) and any certifications (SHRM-CP, CIPD, PHR). In the Gulf, knowledge of local labor law and Saudization/nationalization programs is a genuine differentiator worth stating.
Quantify your people impact
HR results are measurable too: time-to-hire reduced, retention improved, positions filled, training delivered, or headcount supported. "Cut average time-to-hire from 45 to 28 days" or "supported a 300-employee organization" turns soft work into hard evidence.
